Homeschool Summer Enrichment

We finished our first “normal” year of school in quite a while (the year before, we lost Kit; the year before that, we moved to a new state). I’m proud of the girls and how much they learned (and how much I learned with them!). We don’t completely stop during the summer, since the schedule and rhythm is helpful to all the different temperaments in the household, so I like to come up with a light summer morning time. Here’s my plans for this summer:

SUMMER ENRICHMENT: June, July, August 2021

Morning Time:

  • Catechism Review
  • Spanish Review
  • Written Memory Verse (in notebook)
  • 5 Math Problems
  • All About Spelling
  • Piano
  • All About Reading (W)
  • Rotating Subjects:
    • Art Books
    • Poetry
    • Farm/Nature/Food Anatomy Books
    • Kids Atlas / Geography Book
    • Teaching Drawing
    • Hymn Study

Nightly Readalouds:

  1. Babe
  2. Hatchet
  3. 100 Cupboards
  4. Winnie the Pooh
  5. Mandy
  6. Anne of Green Gables
  7. With Two Hands
  8. The Borrowers
  9. All of a Kind Family
  10. The Secret Garden

It may look like a lot all written out, but since the subjects are rotated, this is realistically about a half hour in the morning, then however long we choose to readaloud in the evening before bed. I’m looking forward to digging into this with the girls this summer!
