Baby size: papaya! she can feel me dance and listen to me sing
Weight gain: i haven’t been weighing myself, but i’ll find out at my doctor appointment this week. at my last appointment i was almost 10lbs up from prepregnancy weight, so i figure i’m probably around 12 and 15lbs up now.

23 weeks! |
Stretch marks: none yet
Belly button in or out: in
Sleep: i wake up sick in the night a lot now, like last time in the third trimester. but i usually can go right back to sleep and my hips don’t bother me as much as they did last pregnancy. and every day, around 4 or 4:30 in the afternoon, i really need a nap. its like clockwork. not sure what it is about that time of day! bryan leaves for work around that time three days a week though, so those days can be tough.
Foods I am loving: anything on my can’t-eat list (see below)
Foods I am hating: sometimes chicken is gross to me, but there isn’t too much that i can’t eat right now
Best moment this week: zu’s vocabulary has been expanding almost everyday this week, which as been really exciting!
Movement: lots! i feel her kicking regularly, and its a lovely feeling!
Symptoms: weepiness (not really so much for sad things, i just get emotional easily), some hip and back pain (though not as much as last time). and i’m starting to feel how pregnant i am–its getting harder to carry zuzu around a lot and to bend down for things
the worst symptom right now is heartburn. i wake up in the middle of the night throwing up from it, and its terrible. so this time i’m going to try to be much more strict about my diet and stick to an “anti-heartburn” diet, and not eat anything after 7:30pm. i know it won’t completely solve the problem, since it has to do with hormones, but if it can help a little i think it will be worth it.
this is my can’t-eat list–pretty much anything yummy:
Avacado
Cheese
Chocolate
Coffee
Fried Food
Garlic
Grapefruit
Mexican Food
Mint
Mustard
Oranges
Onion
Pepper
Soda
What I’m looking forward to: my doctor appointment this week–not the glucose test part (yuck!) but checking in on little June! also i’m very much looking forward to spring break next week–time to get that nursery decorated!
Emotions: daydreamy
